Hnefatafl Game

UPDATE: The playable for the game can be found at here.

Hey guys! I made a simple implementation of the Hnefatafl board game in Unity3D.

This game is also know as Viking Chess and there are many know variations of the game.

The source code for the game can be found in my github repository.

Below I demonstrate some of the Hnefatafl rules through my game:

Attackers are in dark brown. Defenders are in yellow. King is in green. Basic movement of the attackers and defenders. Similar to the rooks of chess.
No one other than the King can occupy the 4 corners and the center (called the Throne).
All rooks except the King are killed when surrounded by two opponents during a turn.
Another example of a kill, involving multiple opponents.
The Throne and the corner squares can also help in the capture of opponents.
Moving in between two opponent isn’t considered as a kill.
Demonstration of King not being killed when surrounded by two opponents.
Any rook can move through the throne when it is unoccupied by the king.
Another example of movement through the throne.
The Defenders win when the King is able to reach any one of the 4 corner squares.
The Attackers win when the King is completely surrounded.
